KYG was founded in July 1945 and was originally named Kwang-Youn Engineering Factory. It was registered in the Kaohsiung Harbour Bureau. Later the factory name was changed to Kwang-Youn-Gi Engineering Co. Ltd. due to business expansion.
The company has had rich experience in the marine business for 59 years. Also their quality management system has been approved by Lloyds Register quality assurance ISO9001.
KYG maintain state-of-the-art technology and service at international levels. They are in a joint and cooperative venture with Azuma Kako Co. Ltd. Japan, which is the world leader in low temperature welding and reconditioning processes.
The Kaohsiung factory does ship reconditioning as approved by all classification societies.
