When Mike travelled over to Europort he never expected to meet a young man like Jonas. He was so impressed with his enthusiasm and maturity and especially the fact that he had talked the organisers of the event into allowing him to use a vacant stand in order to promote himself. 

Jonas is 15 years old and is raising money to join a three masted tall ship “De Thalassa” for a six month voyage to the Caribbean. Add to this that he is undergoing major surgery on 23^rd December with a three month recovery period and still wants to continue his fund raising.”

Last week MMI had the pleasure to take the commercial team from Engine Deck Repair nv (EDR) for a Virtual Tour across the UK.

Big ship operators (containers, OSV, tankers) superintendents and fleet managers listened to Philippe Trouillard (Commercial Manager), Sudhakar Tripathi (Technical Manager) and Stijn Van Doninck (General Manager) make their presentation with great attention and interest.

Drydock 3 will be purpose built for LNG at Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering

With a capacity to cater for vessels up to 400,000 DWT, the monstrous dock will be ready to serve in 2020. Construction is well underway to create this 350x80m dock to service LNGs from all over the world. Along with their Cryogenic workshop, MMHE are in prime position to support more LNGs each year.

You may already recognise Alex as she covered for Jen during her maternity leave. However due to the growth of enquiries over the last year, we have kept on Italian-speaking Alex to support the sales team in the day to day running of enquiries. Please join us in welcoming Alex as a permanent member of the team.

You may already know that MMI have worked with a partner in China for over 20 years. Wu Xinyu, based in Shanghai has been the backbone of our constant growth in China. Wu allows MMI to have up to date knowledge of yard performance, offers valuable advice on capabilities and is on hand during the project if required. This then alleviates any communication and logistical issues before they arise streamlining the repair project. In having our partner in China, it means that we are not limited to representing one or two yards in China, but in fact can cover the majority ensuring we can assist with all types of vessels.

Based on the success of our partnership in China we have now replicated the service in Turkey to serve our customers better. We would like to introduce our new partner Osman Kaya Turan.
